USFS Pine Mountain C & O Trail

This trail will connect the Pound community to the Great Eastern Trail.  It would provide a safe, scenic, historical place for walking, bike riding, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and wildlife watching.  It would also be used as an outdoor classroom for science, local history, and physical education.  This is a cooperative project with US Forest Service.  It is an excellent way for members to get to work from the planning stages all the way through to trail opening and then continue with offering educational opportunities to the public.  Debbi Hale is the project leader.

Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and employment are open to all, regardless of age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, veteran status, or any other basis protected by law. An equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
