Master Naturalists are required to gain 8 hours of continuing education throughout the year.  They can get these hours by attending monthly meetings, participating in webinars, taking college courses, attending the Winter Naturalist Rally at Roan Mountain in Tennessee, attending workshops at Natural Tunnel, taking hikes with VCE, or any other acceptable form of education.
